How to digitally sign a word document4/21/2023 ![]() So if I try to create another GPG key from this instance of Seahorse that I've started from within LibreOffice, I get an error window that says "Couldn't generate PGP key no agent running. Unless I click the three vertically stacked dots button, and then switch the "filter" from "personal" to "trusted." Which to me indicates that there's a user or permissions issue? My key isn't "mine" according to the same software I used to create it? I click on this, and Seahorse opens again, except the key I created isn't there. There's a button that says Start Certificat Manager. This brings up an empty list to choose from. ![]() I get a window that has an empty list of signatures for the document (good, I just wrote it, it shouldn't be signed by anyone yet) and then at the bottom there's a button that says Sign Document. Then, tap the Markup button, and press the plus symbol to add your digital signature to the document. Once you’ve identified the PDF document, tap it, and tap the left arrow button. I close that, open up LibreOffice, open a file, and then click File > Digital Signatures > Digital Signatures. Scroll through the options, and look for the document button: find the PDF document you want to sign. If I go and create a GPG key in Seahorse (it's labelled "Passwords and Keys") it seems to take. I've got seahorse 3.36, and LibreOffice 6.4.7.2. It looks like this issue has persisted for years.
